We can barely make it a full week before another national/international headline overtakes the last major headline. There are entirely too many worldwide updates these days to keep up with, so what should we do with the time we have? Should we do all that we can to keep up with all the news? Or, should we find out what our friends, families, groups, and institutions have to say about things? Or, should we ignore the news altogether because it’s all too much and instead, just focus on nice & sweet things instead of all this worldwide drama? No to all the above, but I do say that along with increasing our prayer & fasting, we must increase our reading of & meditation on The Word! That’s right, we should all be spending much more time reading the Scriptures. World events & headlines will continue to grow and change, but the Word of our Father will always endure, and it tells us our past, present, and future. Let us always remember:
“Remember the former events of old, for I am Ěl (God), and there is no one else – Elohim (God), and there is no one like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from of old that which has not yet been done, saying, ‘My counsel does stand, and all My delight I do,’ calling a bird of prey from the east, the man who executes My counsel, from a distant land. Indeed I have spoken it, I also bring it to pass. I have planned it, I also do it.”

“Did you not know? Have you not heard? Has it not been declared to you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth? Let him return to יהוה, who has compassion on him, and to our Elohim, for He pardons much. “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,” declares יהוה. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts. “For as the rain comes down, and the snow from the heavens, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, and give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so is My Word that goes forth from My mouth – it does NOT return to Me empty, BUT shall do what I please, and shall certainly accomplish what I sent it for.”

New events will create new headlines, so instead, let us remember our Father’s headlines, let us pay less attention to what others in this world are saying about what’s going on, and let us read & study The Word to better understand what is going on, why it’s happening, and what must happen in the days to come! Let us put our electronic devices down, turn the TV news & our social media news feeds off more often, and instead let us spend more time seeking truth, wisdom, and discernment which is found in our Father’s Word.
“Remind the people of these facts, and solemnly charge them in the presence of God (YAH) to avoid petty controversy over words, which does no good, and [upsets and undermines and] ruins [the faith of] those who listen. Study and do your best to present yourself to God (YAH) approved, a workman [tested by trial] who has no reason to be ashamed, accurately handling and skillfully teaching The Word of truth. But avoid all irreverent babble and godless chatter [with its profane, empty words], for it will lead to further ungodliness, and their teaching will spread like gangrene…”
