Welcome back to our thought-provoking series where we examine and debunk some of the outright lies and common misconceptions that are told concerning biblical matters. Let us separate fact from fiction as we test modern beliefs held by some against the standards, wisdom, and instructions that are found in the Biblical Scriptures.
“And I will bless them that bless you, and curse him that curse you: and in you shall all families of the earth be blessed.”
Genesis 12:3
This verse has become a slogan for politicians, preachers, and commentators who insist that supporting the modern state of Israel guarantees a blessing from The Most High. But does this verse really say that?
Let’s examine this claim Biblically and historically.
And just, in case you haven’t seen this clip yet, check it out:
What Genesis 12:3 Actually Says
In context, Genesis 12:3 is part of a personal promise that YAH made to Abram (Abraham) long before the establishment of a physical nation or even a descendant who would be called Israel. In fact, the verse doesn’t even mention the word “Israel.”
The Word of The Most High YAH says:
“… And in you (Abraham) all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
This promise is ultimately fulfilled in The Messiah, He is The Promised Seed (descendant) of Abraham—not some modern-day political state.
Just as the Apostle Paul (Sha’ul) writes:
“Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, ‘And to seeds,’ as of many, but as of one, ‘And to your Seed,’ who is The Messiah.” (Genesis 12:7, 13:15)
— Galatians 3:16
This means the real focus of Genesis 12:3 is spiritual and prophetic—not political.
That Being Sais, Who Else Can Be Called The Seed of Abraham?
Does you remember this old school kid’s song?
Again, The Messiah is the ultimate Seed of Abraham, and still we know, that Abraham had many descendants before the birth of The Messiah:
Abraham fathered Isaac, who fathered Jacob (who was later renamed Israel). Jacob/Israel fathered the 12 tribes of Israel of course – and let us also not forget Abraham’s other descendants, many of whom became known as various other Arab and African peoples as detailed in Genesis.
Hear me out for a second… If we’re truly focused on blessing the descendants of Abraham, then that blessing must extend beyond just the modern state of Israel. It should include all of Abraham’s seed—many of whom are found among the oppressed peoples of the so-called Middle East and Africa. When Western nations support the bombing, displacement, and oppression of these groups while claiming to “bless Israel,” they are, in reality, cursing other descendants of Abraham. The West thinks they are opposing Anti-Semitism, while actually working against the bloodline descendants of Shem (Shemites/Semites)… For a deeper dive on that, click this link:
Are Modern Jews the Bloodline Israelites?
Now, this is where it gets complicated and controversial for most, due to widespread Scriptural misunderstanding and historical distortion. But we must be guided by Scripture and true history, not by emotional bias and false narratives.
The word “Jew” is improperly derived from “Yahudah” (aka Judah). Yahudah is just one tribe out of the twelve tribes of Israel. Most modern-day and self-proclaimed Jews are Ashkenazi (of European descent). They are converts from centuries past—not bloodline Hebrew Israelites. The Messish said: “I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews (Yahudim) and are not, but are of the synagogue of Satan.” — Revelation 2:9; 3:9
Meanwhile, millions of scattered peoples—so-called African Americans, Afro-Europeans, Afro-Caribbeans, Afro-Latinos, and other Afro-Indigenous groups—match the Biblical prophecies concerning the dispersed Israelites to the letter, as described in Deuteronomy 28, Leviticus 26, Amos 9:9, and other passages. These are the people who have endured the full weight of the curses outlined in Scripture—not those currently occupying the modern state of Israel.
They are the descendants of the enslaved, scattered, despised, and otherwise cursed Twelve Tribes of Israel—just as Scripture describes—not merely a single counterfeit tribe.
They preserve Hebraic customs, songs, culture, and—most importantly—a spiritual and covenant connection to The Most High YAH, even without fully knowing their identity, their homeland, or to whom they truly belong.
“The ox knows his owner, and the ass his master’s crib: BUT Israel does NOT know, My people do not consider.”
Isaiah 1:3Or in even simpler English
“Cattle know who owns them, and donkeys know where their master feeds them. But that is more than My people Israel know. They do not get it or seek to understand it at all.”
Isaiah 1:3
Only recently are many of His people/true Israel—awakening to The Truth, coming to the knowledge that they are the bloodline children of Abraham, and most importantly true Israel. Many Israelites are just now beginning to acknowledge that they are the children of YAH—the chosen Israelites, and while they are still scattered, living in the lands of their captivities worldwide, they are humbly returning to YAH in spirit & truth, just as He said would happen:
“When all these things come upon you—the blessings and curses I have set before you—and you call them to mind in all the nations to which the Lord your God (YAH your Elohim) has banished you, and when you and your children return to YAH your Elohim and obey His voice with all your heart and all your soul according to everything I am giving you today, then He will restore you from captivity and have compassion on you and gather you from all the nations to which the YAH your Elohim has scattered you. Even if you have been banished to the farthest horizon, He will gather you and return you from there. And YAH your Elohim will bring you into the land your fathers possessed, and you will take possession of it. He will cause you to prosper and multiply more than your fathers. YAH your Elohim will circumcise your hearts and the hearts of your descendants, and you will love Him with all your heart and with all your soul, so that you may live. Then YAH your Elohim will put all these curses upon your enemies who hate you and persecute you. And you will again obey the voice of YAH and follow all His commandments I am giving you today.”
Deuteronomy 30:1-8
So… What Does It Mean to Bless Abraham’s Seed?
It doesn’t mean blind support for a nation that doesn’t obey The Most High YAH. It doesn’t mean weaponizing Scripture to justify colonialism or apartheid. Blessing the descendants of Abraham according to Scripture requires you to:
✅ Walk in Righteousness and Justice
Genesis 18:19 – “For I have known him [Abraham], in order that he may command his children and his household after him, that they keep the way of YAH, to do righteousness and justice…”
To bless Abraham’s seed is to imitate him—walking in righteousness and justice, not corruption or violence.
✅ Not Oppress the Stranger or Afflicted
Exodus 22:21-24 – “You shall neither mistreat a stranger nor oppress him, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt… If you afflict them in any way, and they cry at all to Me, I will surely hear their cry…”
Scattered Israelites today are afflicted and treated as strangers or “second-class” citizens in the lands where they were born. To bless them is to protect, not persecute them.
✅ Care for the Poor, Needy, and Widows
Deuteronomy 15:7-8 – “If there is among you a poor man… you shall not harden your heart… but you shall open your hand wide…”
Isaiah 1:17 – “Learn to do good; seek justice, rebuke the oppressor; defend the fatherless, plead for the widow.”
True blessing includes generosity and protection of the most vulnerable—many of whom are Abraham’s scattered children.
✅ Recognize and Promote the Regathering of Scattered Israel
Jeremiah 31:10 – “Hear the word of YAH, O nations, and declare it… ‘He who scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him as a shepherd does his flock.’”
Amos 9:9 – “For surely I will command, and will sift the house of Israel among all nations…”
Nations can bless Israel by recognizing the identity of the true remnant and supporting their return, not their erasure.
✅ Fear YAH and Honor His Covenant
Deuteronomy 7:9 – “Know that YAH your Elohim, He is Elohim, the faithful El who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments.”
To bless the seed of Abraham is to honor The Elohim of Abraham—YAH—and keep His commands.
✅ Support and Do No Harm to the Remnant
Isaiah 49:6 – “I will also give You as a light to the Gentiles, that You should be My salvation to the ends of the earth.”
Zechariah 2:8 – “He who touches you touches the apple of His eye.”
Touching or harming the remnant of Yisra’el brings judgment. Blessing them brings favor.
✅ Serve the Least of These
Matthew 25:40 – “Truly I say to you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.”
Many Israelites are the “least of these”—oppressed, imprisoned, poor. To serve them is to serve Yahoshua, The Seed.
✅ Follow and Believe in Yahoshua, The True Seed
Galatians 3:16 – “Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made… and to your Seed, who is The Messiah.”
John 8:39 – “If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham.”
The ultimate blessing of Abraham comes through Yahoshua. To reject Him is to reject the very promise YAH made!
To bless Abraham, we must honor the covenant—walk in obedience and truth, as Abraham walked!
Let’s Rebuke The Misuse and Twisting of The Word of YAH
Those who twist Genesis 12:3 into a corrupt political weapon are furthering the affliction of the curses, not bestowing Biblically endorsed blessings. Supporting a modern counterfit nation while they bomb, wound, kill, displace, marginalize, and take advantage of actual descendants of Abraham, is not a blessing, it is a curse. It’s not righteous works, but rather works of wickedness.
As Yahoshua The Messiah said:
“If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham.”
— John 8:39
Let’s return to the works of Abraham: righteousness, hospitality, covenant faithfulness, and obedience to the instructions (Torah) of The Most High YAH! Because when The Messiah returns to judge, He will judge according to what people do:
“Behold, I am coming soon, and My reward is with Me, to give to each one according to what he has done.”
Revelation 22:12
Conclusion
The Most High YAH is not looking for us to display so-called Star of David flags, share posts like “protect Israelis”, or go to political rallies or protests. He’s calling us to seek His Kingdom, stand for justice & righteousness, and humbly return to His covenant by obeying His Torah instructions.
The question is not:
“Do you support Israelis & Jews?”
But rather:
“Are you obeying YAH and blessing the true seed of Abraham in ways that Scripture teaches?”
If not, it’s time to repent and get right with YAH and bless His obedient & chosen people.
“By this we know that we love the children of YAH: when we love YAH and keep His commandments. For this is the love of YAH, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome,”
1 John 5:2-3
And for us who are the true bloodline descendants of Israel, yes, all of us Israelites, let us always remember who we are and what we are to do, no matter where we are scattered and dispersed among the nations of the world:
“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for YAH’s own possession, to proclaim the virtues of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of YAH; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. Beloved, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from the desires of the flesh, which war against your soul. Conduct yourselves with such honor among the Gentiles that, though they slander you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify YAH on the day He visits us.”
1 Peter 2:9-12
Until next time, shalom ✌🏾
