Some Sukkot Links & Info

Here is an oldie but goodie video to watch from back in 2017 (our first “big Sukkot”), especially if this will be your first Sukkot. Not everything here applies to us at this time, but there is a lot of great information in this video alone.

And here is a playlist of some of our previous Sukkot lessons:

What to Bring (or buy once you get town):

Bibles, Tent or materials to build a Sukkah to sleep in, a tarp or two (to place under your tent), air mattresses or cots, sleeping bags or blankets, pillows, flashlights, toiletries, towels, washcloths, snacks, plates, bowls and eating utensils, food, water, snacks, coolers & ice, games, insect repellent, sunblock, swimsuits, shower/pool shoes, chairs, and folding tables (if you have them it would help). Your shoes will get dusty, so bring shoes which can take the dust: boots/sneakers/crocs.

When tent shopping, consider tents that are tall enough for you to stand in, and that are large enough for you and your stuff. Understand that even though a tent might say that it sleeps 6 people, that means 6 people in sleeping bags, not air mattresses, not luggage, and other bulky items. So, consider the true interior size. There are tons of videos out there, but below we have attached a few to get you started. We also recommend buying at least 12 of the large metal spikes (linked below), to stake down your tents. The stakes that come with your tents are not strong enough to be hammered without bending, nor are they durable enough to withstand strong winds that may occur. Also, please have a real hammer not a tent peg mallet on hand so you can drive the stakes into the ground.
