Happy New Year Blessings—Yes, In The Springtime! A Renewed Year, A Renewed Understanding!

Shalom, family!

As I said in the other two blogs which are linked below, the seasons themselves let us know what time it is… The Year renews, not in the dead of winter, but in the newness of Springtime:

In my last blog, I included a link to our calendar according to The Most High. Our days and months are numbered and controlled by Him, regardless of what anyone else says or what names they use. So, if we follow The Bible, let’s follow the Biblical calendar—not Pagan calendars. Our Father gave us clear instructions about the calendar that He desires for us to keep.

Pagan Gentiles assigned other names to the days and months that we commonly use today—names often tied to honoring their pagan gods and leaders. This may be old news to some of you, but guess what? Even though it is literally ancient news, it is still new to others every year!

Let’s take a quick look at some of the names that Pagan Gentiles assigned to the days & months:

As I always say, don’t take my word for it—research for yourself, on your own after you finish this blog. Look deeper into the names of each day of the week & month of the year, and the corresponding pagan gods mentioned above, and you’ll see how the pagans worshiped and honored them by name during their designated days & months. That’s not our culture, fam!

Now, you might be wondering about the last four months. Well, their names simply correspond to Roman/Latin numbers. And since these numbers end at the 10th month, yet we know there are 12 months, this serves as a clear clue to the manipulation of the start and end of the calendar:

“The months from September to December were named in the order of appearance on the calendar. Since there were only 10 months on the (their pagan) calendar initially (after their manipulation), they were numbered from 7 to 10. January and February were added (not added, they were moved from the end to the beginning) later, thus giving us a total of 12 months.”

Alright, enough about what the pagans did—the real question is, what did our calendar look like before the pagans messed everything up?

The months of the year, much like the days of the week, were originally identified solely by their numbers. If you read the Scriptures, particularly in texts like Leviticus 23, you’ll notice that both the days and months are referred to only by their numerical values.

In the Biblical books that come after the “Books of Moses,” you will see Babylonian names for some of the months, but understand that these names weren’t used by our ancestors until their Babylonian captivity—go figure, right? It’s similar to how we’ve been made to use pagan names for the days & months of the year today, thanks to our more recent captivity and colonization.

As we look forward to the day when The Messiah sets the records straight, we continue in Babylon, speaking and hearing these pagan names for days and months—it is what it is. But WE are returning to our Father’s scriptural truth and order, more & more, year by year! So, let us focus on what is good & functional (tov), by enjoying and celebrating another year of life. May this Abib be great, and may our Father be pleased with our words and hearts as we keep His calendar. May His Spirit be with you and your households throughout this entire new year! HalleluYAH! Amein.

Until next time, shalom ✌🏾

I AM: Hebrew—by blood Israelite—by covenant American—by way of birthright citizenship Awakened—by The Word & Spirit of YAH I blog about things that we often all see around us, things that we see in person, online, or on TV— and I offer functional & Scriptural perspectives on such matters. I believe that Scripture is key to understanding this thing we call life: “ALL Scripture is breathed out by Elohim (God) and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for setting straight, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of Elohim might be fitted, equipped for every good work.” ‭‭Timotiyos Bĕt (2 Timothy)‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬-‭17‬ ‭TS2009‬‬ https://bible.com/bible/316/2ti.3.16-17.TS2009 And that everything we do in life will be judged by The Creator of life, so it's best to understand the conclusion of The Matter: “Let us hear the CONCLUSION OF THE ENTIRE MATTER: FEAR ELOHIM AND GAURD (KEEP) HIS COMMANDS, for this applies to ALL mankind! For Elohim SHALL bring EVERY work into right-ruling (judgment), including ALL that is hidden, whether good or whether evil.” ‭‭Qoheleth (Ecclesiastes)‬ ‭12‬:‭13‬-‭14‬ ‭TS2009‬‬ https://bible.com/bible/316/ecc.12.13-14.TS2009
