Some lies die quickly, while others only appear to die off as they go into a type of hibernation, and as time & seasons change, they pop right back up again. One of those reoccurring lies is that: “The Ten Commandments are nothing more than a copy & paste from others”. Claims abound about “The Big 10” being copied from other cultures, other laws, and other writings like the Egyptian 42 laws (or negative confessions) of Ma’at, the Babylonian code of Hammurabi, or The Mesopotamian code of Ur-Nammu, etc… And even though there are new TikTok, YouTube, and other videos saying how Moses copied The 10 Commandments from Hamites & other Shemites, these false claims are not new, but they keep cycling around and they are played out. It’s entirely too easy to debunk claims like these, no matter how educated, charismatic, passionate, or sincere the presenters are, and we’ll prove that later, but for now, here are some quick clips that offer quick rebuttals that refute claims of Moses copying & pasting from others:

People and organizations that make such claims showcase their lack of logic, understanding, and basic research & scholarship. The first four commands alone, from The 10 Commandments, are unique and contradictory to pagan constitutions or codes. After reviewing the blog above, you can check out this site which asserts that each of the 42 laws of ma’at are actually professed to and prayed in the name of 42 “assessor” gods (… which is a direct violation of the 1st of The 10 Commandments 😑.
I only highlighted the first two above, but as you can see for yourself, each of the 42 “laws”/confessions/declarations/ideals of ma’at, abominably invoke/pray to pagan gods/elohim. That point brings me to a personal reason for writing this blog, one of our sistas who is finishing up her degree at a California State University, took a class where the so-called professor went down the line, calling upon each student to recite from the 42 laws of ma’at… a blasphemous act for those of us who believe in and obey The Scriptures. Thankfully, before it was our sista’s turn to read, she got up and left the class—HalleluYAH! Our sista called me & my wife, and we talked it through, condemning the professor and his attempts, which also prompted us to rejoice and praise YAH together. This is how we stand against breaking the instructions/Commands of The Most High YAH, while in Babylon and remain joyful in our obedience to YAH. Shame and judgment be upon this professor for the proselytizing of Egyptology beliefs, and power & position violation of The US 1st amendment—May YAH judge all those who attempt to teach us to break YAH’s Commands & all pagan gods (and we know how serious YAH is especially when it comes to judging Egyptian gods, remember Exodus 12:12).
Ok, back to the false claims that The 10 Commandments are nothing more than a copy… Question: Does not every nation, every kingdom on earth have laws and codes which govern its people? Do not worldwide religions have principles & practices that maintain order & discipline? Many of the most basic of these, deal with treating people justly e.g.: not murdering, stealing, or lying to one another. So why does no one try to discredit and do away with other laws and codes? For instance, I’ve not heard someone say the US laws or China’s laws against murder and theft aren’t as old as Egypt’s laws, so the Americans & Chinese just copied from Egypt so there’s nothing special about them, in fact they are just some outdated man-made rules. Some universally sound, protective laws might have been written down prior to the writing of The 10 Commandments, but that doesn’t make them older than YAH’s commandments nor does that make them the prototype of The Big 10. In fact, some of The Big 10 already applied to all mankind for generations before Moses was given the written Law, and some commandments were being kept before countries & ancient civilizations like Egypt existed. Adam & Eve had to learn the hard way about disobeying the commandments of YAH, and of course, Cain disobeyed YAH’s commands and committed the first murder, and we can fast-forward to Noah who was given and then passed on some of the commandments of YAH’s covenant with the whole world, to all people of the whole even today (see Genesis 9-1-17). YAH even gave a foundational commandment (that no one seems to have a problem with keeping), to all of creation, during the week of creation:
“And Elohim blessed them, and Elohim said to them, “Be fruitful and increase, and fill the earth and subdue it, and rule over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the heavens, and over all creeping creatures on the earth.”

Additionally and importantly, we can see that The Commandments from YAH who is the Elohim of all creation, did not start & stop with The 10 Commandments, The 10 Commandments are the foundational laws of The Covenant between YAH and His chosen nation of people. The 10 Commandments are The Constitution of Israel, and each of the commandments must be kept by all those who profess that they love, obey, and know The Most High. Anyone who says that they know & love Him, while breaking His Commandments, are liars and there is no truth in them according to Scripture:
“And by this we know that we know Him, IF we guard (keep) His commands. The one who says, “I know Him,” and does NOT guard (keep) His commands, is a LIAR, and the truth is NOT in him. BUT whoever guards (keeps) His Word (Commands), truly the love of Elohim has been perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.”

Again, The Commands of YAH our Elohim are not a copy of anyone else’s commands or laws, they come from YAH alone (they were recorded and instructed by Moses); The 10 Commandments do not come from Egypt, Babylon, or any other nation or religion. Research it for yourself to see if Egypt, Babylon, Mesopotamia or any other ancient nation or religion obeyed the first four of YAH’s 10 Commandments. Once you see and know the truth, you grow tired of old lies like this.
Also family, do not condone ignorance and do not allow anyone to tell you or your people what The 10 Commandments say or anything against the 10 Commandments while they break them, especially because you can always read The 10 Commandments for yourself in Exodus 20 & Deuteronomy 5. Do not allow the Catholic Church or any other group or person to try and change the order of or your understanding of The Big 10. Again, The 10 Commandments Are The Most High YAH’s Commandments, and they must be obeyed by all those who call themselves children of The Most High—even TODAY! The 10 Commandments are not old & outdated… they are not done away with.
And if you are wondering why I especially singled out the Catholic Church, it’s because they took it upon themselves to edit & reorder The 10 Commandments–a twisted & abominable deed that exposes how they operate teaching false doctrines like: it’s ok to make & bow down to worship idols; and it’s alright to break the Sabbath/Shabbat Day while saying Sunday “The Lord’s Day” or “Christian Sabbath”—enough of these lies! We must always read The 10 Commandments (and all Scripture) for ourselves, and then we can reject the doctrines and teachers who speak in opposition to the truth of Scripture. Catholic Christians aren’t alone in twisting & perverting the righteous Commands of YAH while self-proclaiming adherence to Scripture; denominational Protestant Christians & non-denominational Christians also twist & pervert YAH’s Scripture by doing away with teaching adherence to each of The Big 10. Well family… let’s sum this up as we close this blog out. If you are ever presented with providing answers to those who say that “Moses copied The 10 Commandments from so-and-so”, or those who say “Well, we don’t have to worry about keeping the Commandments pertaining to idolatry or the Sabbath today because of faith & grace”, you can tell them to kick rocks while backing it up with Scripture, facts, and logic. Lastly, let no one tell you that the Bible approves of moving or changing the keeping of the weekly cycle of the 7th day Sabbath/Shabbat Day observance. The Bible never says that Sunday which is the 1st day of the week, replaced the 7th day Shabbat/Sabbath day. We keep the 7th day of the week set apart/holy unto YAH as the Scripture says. Additionally, do not allow anyone, to tell you that YAH is pleased with those who bow down & worship idols (images of angels, saints, Mary, Joseph, and Jesus included)—these are lies and falsehoods which trap millions worldwide. We do not do idolatry, and we do not bow to any images according to Scripture. Practices that go against Scripture are falsehood—WE do NOT keep lies and falsehood, we expose & rebuke it; we love, keep, and walk in the truth which comes from the Word of YAH (Psalm 119:142 & 160, John 17:17). and we know according to the last chapter of Scripture, that those who love lies & falsehoods, and those who do false practices, will not be allowed to enter into the gates of YAH’s Kingdom:
