Our Creator Cares About What We Eat & How We Feast, And So Shall We

While we Israelites & our companions were celebrating The Feast of Unleavened Bread, watching what we ate, and being especially careful about what was/is in our hearts, we should know that others in the world, celebrate springtime feasts too… but we are not the same. The world is full of religious adherents who celebrate their religion and feast upon all types of meat. Yes, we know about Christians (both Protestants & Catholics), who feast on pork during Easter, but there are other festivals, with other abominable meats. We’ve likely all heard of the Rat Temple in India, where people pray to rats (which they believe to be reincarnated gods), but have you ever heard of the springtime, new year, harvest festival called unying-aran?

Well, now you have heard of it…. You will also learn something else about it, the chosen meat is none other than gourmet rat 😑

If you think that it’s only Asian countries that eat rodents & consider them delicacies, you would be mistaken. Every continent (excluding Antarctica), has people who choose & desire to consume rodents. Some South Americans choose to consume Guinea pigs, capybaras & nutria. Some Africans love to dine on rodents indeed. As do some Europeans & Australians. Some North Americans chose to dine on squirrels, chipmunks, beavers, and nutria too. And I’d be remiss to mention that some Europeans also have a long-standing history of feasting on rodents. But you don’t have to believe me, google rodent recipes by country and you will see them for yourself 😑

So, why does all this matter to me? I’m not eating rodents… and you probably aren’t either. It matters to me because there are Israelites scattered throughout the nations of the world, and best believe these pagans who run the world, will find a way to incorporate rodents & other abominable meats into processed foods and GMO “sustainable” meals.

The so-called experts, farmers, doctors, and environmentalists will tell you about the “sustainability” benefits all-day-long, but they won’t tell you about the sustainability of your eternal soul… Thankfully we Israelites who read & obey The Scriptures will. We know our Father in Heaven, cares about what we eat on His earth. He has cared about what mankind eats since the Garden of Eden, and He still cares today. Thankfully He gives us clear instructions, telling us which animals are to be called food and which are abominable to Him (Leviticus 11 & Deuteronomy 14). We are even foretold how things will be when judgment comes upon those eating things which He instructs us to not eat:

“The Lord (יהוה YAH) will come with fire. He will ride on the wings of a storm to punish those He is angry with. By fire and sword He will punish all the people of the world whom He finds guilty—and many will be put to death. The Lord (YAH) says, “The end is near for those who purify themselves for pagan worship, who go in procession to sacred gardens, AND who eat pork and mice and other disgusting foods.”

Isaiah‬ ‭66‬:‭15‬-‭17‬ ‭GNTD‬‬

And don’t get me started on the “super pigs” (google them) which were bread to be larger and more, and are now a problem in North America because they can’t contain them now 😑… it will be tons of abominable meat available for the world to eat in the latter days to come.

Let’s wrap this up family, again, just as we were extra careful with what we consumed (physically & spiritually) during The Feast of Unleavened Bread, let us stay vigilant both physically & spiritually in these times we live in. Let us eat righteously and think righteously. We have to bring every thought captive, knowing especially how this world is moving. As everything becomes more pluralistic & inclusive, let us pray to our Father about how we must move… only YAH knows, but I have a feeling that we may be approaching a time when we might have to make moves like our ancestors did (especially for those of us who don’t raise our own livestock):

“Among those chosen were Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, all of whom were from the tribe of Judah. The chief official gave them new names: Belteshazzar, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Daniel made up his mind not to let himself become ritually unclean by eating the food and drinking the wine of the royal court, so he asked Ashpenaz to help him, and God (Elohim) made Ashpenaz sympathetic to Daniel. Ashpenaz, however, was afraid of the king, so he said to Daniel, “The king has decided what you are to eat and drink, and if you don’t look as fit as the other young men, he may kill me.” So Daniel went to the guard whom Ashpenaz had placed in charge of him and his three friends. “Test us for ten days,” he said. “Give us vegetables to eat and water to drink. Then compare us with the young men who are eating the food of the royal court, and base your decision on how we look.” He agreed to let them try it for ten days. When the time was up, they looked healthier and stronger than all those who had been eating the royal food. So from then on the guard let them continue to eat vegetables instead of what the king provided.”‬‬

Daniel‬ ‭1‬:‭6‬-‭16‬ ‭GNTD

“But Judas Maccabeus and about nine others escaped into the barren mountains, where they lived like wild animals. In order not to defile themselves, they ate only plants which they found growing there.”

2 Maccabees‬ ‭5‬:‭27‬ ‭GNTD‬‬

Let us stay ready, work on mastering our desires & diet now, master our thoughts & appetite now. We may be faced with the same tests which our ancestors had to face, and I pray that we will be ready to put our lives on the line if need be—our goal is to be greeted by our King!

“But many people in Israel FIRMLY resisted the king’s decree and REFUSED to EAT food that was ritually UNCLEAN. They preferred to DIE rather than break the holy covenant and eat unclean food—and MANY DID DIE.”

1 Maccabees‬ ‭1‬:‭62‬-‭63‬ ‭GNTD‬‬

So let us endure, with our eyes wide open, knowing that tests & trials will come, but we know how it all ends, remembering the instruction of our brotha Sha’ul/Paul:

“For I have told you often before, and I say it again with tears in my eyes, that there are many whose conduct shows they are really enemies of the cross of Christ (Mashiach). They are headed for destruction. Their god is their appetite (belly), they brag about shameful things, and they think only about this life here on earth. BUT WE are citizens of heaven, where the Lord (King) Jesus Christ (Yahoshua Mashiach) lives. And we are eagerly waiting for Him to return as our Savior. He will take our weak mortal bodies and change them into glorious bodies like His own, using the same power with which He will bring everything under His control.”
