What if “Kumbaya” isn’t just “Come By Here”?
Could it be echoing an ancient Hebrew cry found throughout Scripture:
“Qumah YAH” — “Arise, YAH!”
From Numbers 10:35 to the Psalms, our ancestors cried out for deliverance, justice, and salvation. In this blog, I explore whether the famous spiritual “Kumbaya” may preserve more of that ancient plea than many realize.
