Shalom family! Every couple of weeks, we are seeing more reports of stores closing in cities, making the already “food desert” crises worse. Many of us have been storing away some food supplies, to last at least a month, for a while now, if you have yet to do so, make moves this week to buy a couple of extra canned food items the next time you go shopping. You don’t have to go big & crazy, just each time you are at the store, but a little extra food, water & supplies to store away for a rainy day. The reason for this short blog today is not simply to encourage you to stock up on food, but most importantly (once again) to encourage you to start gardening and growing some of your own fresh food. I encourage you… I implore you… I challenge you all: plant something by the end of this week, even if it’s only one pot or any other kind of container. Make plans and plant at least some lettuce, or my favorite starter plant—green onions, just make some moves to plant & grow some food today. And in case you’re wondering why I say “green onions”, it’s because it doesn’t get any easier in my opinion, yes you can just grow the cuttings/kitchen scraps in some water, but you can also do this, click to see what I mean:
Now please, check out and subscribe to some of these videos & channels listed below. Learn what you need, don’t worry about the rest, and start growing. You don’t have to be a gardener, you don’t have to have a “green thumb”, you don’t need to have a house with land, and you don’t need fancy pots & dirt, I started gardening in 2019 with an empty sour cream container & some the leftover diced tomatoes after a taco Tuesday night, then we ended up with 4 fruitful tomato plants, in our dining room window. So, there are no excuses for any of us. It’s ok to not know how or where to begin, it’s ok if you think it will be boring… just give it a try. Check these videos out for ideas, but remember all you really need is a seed or cutting, a container, some dirt, and water; you will learn as you grow… get it…😂😑 just a lil dad joke 😮💨 don’t leave me🤣

What Is He Brewing? 
Yes I put together some plant pot of tomatoes, peppers, strawberries and blueberries. I have them out on my front porch. They were growing well, but because I live in Ohio, the cold weather and morning frost has been really off and unpredictable this year and now the plants aren’t looking so good. Looks like I may have to find a way to bring them inside my house.

Thank you for this. We’ve got about 2 months of food stored, need some more water. I’ve got seeds to plant a garden this year.
One question comes to mind.
How do we give our first fruits to Yah and the teachers when we have no one close enough to give them too?

Great question, my answer for your consideration is based upon two passages:
Reading from Deuteronomy 14 verses 22 to 29, focusing on the part in verses 24-27 which says: “And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from thee,… then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which YAH thy Elohim shall choose: and thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before YAH thy Elohim, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household, and the Levite that is within thy gates; thou shalt not forsake him; for he hath no part nor inheritance with thee.”
And similarly, Deuteronomy 16:10-11, focusing on this part of verse 11:
“… and the Levite that is within thy gates, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are among you…”
So, first things first: #1. We aren’t in the land. #2. We have no way to verify who our Levites & priests are. So we do our best to honor YAH, and to be a blessing to the people YAH told us to bless.
So, as for our teachers & shepherds, we honor them with our giving, as they are doing ministry work, service in a way similar to Levites and deserving of their wage (consider 1 Corinthians 9:13-14). We also honor those who are in need & without, specifically any widows, orphans, and migrants who are amongst us. My family and I are working towards being able to bless all the people groups which YAH mentioned. This year, right before Pesach we fed some homeless people, widows, and fatherless children, for an example. There is an orphanage that I’m seeking to help be a blessing to as well. As for our teachers & shepherds, I have them close to me, but for you and others, because of the distance and for those who do not want to give money, they can consider sending restaurant or grocery store gift cards.
Again, these are some things for your consideration, and as with all things, let us pray, asking our Father to give us direction, discernment, and shalom, as we try our best to obey & please Him in all of our doings, wherever we are.
I offer up the prayer of King Dauid over us all, as he closed out Psalms 19 saying “Let the words of my mouth (our mouths), and the meditation of my heart (our hearts), be acceptable in Thy sight, O YAH, my (our) strength, and my (our) redeemer.” HalleluYAH!
