More Stores Will Close, More Contamination & Recalls Will Occur—So Grow & Raise Some Of Your Own Food Today!

Every few weeks, we see more reports of store closures in cities and food safety recalls, worsening the already critical “food desert” crisis. In response, some of us have started setting aside food supplies—at least enough to last a month or two. If you haven’t begun yet, take action this week by picking up a few extra canned goods the next time you shop. You don’t need to go overboard—just grab a little extra food, water, and supplies each time you visit the store to build up your reserves for a “rainy day.”

But the purpose of this blog isn’t just to encourage you to stock up—it’s more importantly, to urge you, once again, to start gardening & farming and growing & raising some of your own fresh food.

I encourage you… I implore you… I challenge you: plant something by the end of this week! Even if it’s just one pot or any small container, take action. Start with something simple—like lettuce or my personal favorite starter plant, green onions. Just do something—plant and grow some food today!

And if you’re wondering why I recommend green onions, it’s because they’re one of the easiest things to grow. You can simply regrow them from kitchen scraps in water—but there’s also another simple way. Click to see what I mean:

Things Are Going From Bad To Worse, But It’s Going According To His Plan

Ready Or Not, Here Comes The Month Of Abib—The First Month Of The Year, And The Fast Growing abib Is Our Sign

We are looking forward to the New Year and The Most High’s Biblical springtime holy day feasts, thankfully we can see the signs which are signaling to us that the New Year is right around the corner. (And No, we don’t celebrate the New Year in the dead of winter, January 1st is not The Most High YAH’s new year according to The Bible, and so it was not our time to celebrate with the world, but we are getting ready to celebrate with Him now!) And if we look a little closer, not only will we see signs of renewed life in the returning grass, but we can also see the signs of preparation; preparation for the next generation of grass, the grass seeds, the fresh heads of grain, which can also be called—fresh young ears of corn. Corn?!? Corn isn’t grass… Or is it? Never mind that for now… Let’s continue, The new heads of grain prepare us to keep watch for the new moon/new month of the New Year. And according to Scripture the the first month of the year is called “Abib”:

While We Were All Living Our Lives, The Devil Won Another Award

Our ancestors, who lived through the trans-Atlantic slave trade, experienced the most heinous slavery. And again, even though there are symbolic resemblances when considering the treatment by our ancestors’ enslavers and the NFL executives, it is ludicrous to compare the two fully, action for action. NFL players have a choice to work & get paid or find other employment; whereas our enslaved ancestors had to choose between labor or death. I’ll put it another way, NFL players aren’t forced to play, and they are paid for their work, still, such was the life for some gladiators. Continue to pray for Damar Hamlin and his family. Also, use your voice, your social media platform, and your purchasing power to speak against corporate wrongs done to all of our people, especially our modern-day gladiators. And more importantly, continue to pray for our people, our nation of wayward Israelites, so that we as a nation awaken to who we are. We must understand that we as a people have broken the covenant with our God/Elohim. We must repent/turn away from sin & disobedience, and we must once again obey the commands of our Father. We turned away from the Torah/Instruction of YAH our Elohim, we learned how to serve the gods of other nations, we were taught to love false images of our Father & His Son, and false doctrines of men as if they were doctrines found in Scripture… Now is our time of awakening and repentance. Now is our time to walk in obedience to YAH’s commands and to live in the blessings once again. The days and promises of Deuteronomy 30 are ahead of us—HalleluYAH! So as we deal with the last of the effects of oppression & slavery, I again encourage you to pray for awakening and repenting Israel—Our rescue & freedom by the Hand of YAH (The Son), is coming soon!

Observing A New Year, In The Dead Of Winter, Is A Relatively New & Strange Thing. Let’s Go Back To The Way Things Were.

Is it strange to celebrate the end of one year with the beginning of another? Not at all. It’s good to give thanks and rejoice for making it through another year, it’s good to celebrate the gift of life. But the question at hand isn’t about celebration itself—it’s about when we celebrate the New Year. Why observe newness and renewal in the deadest, darkest part of the year, especially when the world once recognized the natural renewal of springtime as the New Year season?

Before the relatively modern shift to starting the year in winter, mankind aligned their New Year celebrations with the observable renewal of creation—in the spring. If this is news to you, you might be asking, “What is he getting at?” Let me explain.

Hanukkah Is NOT…

In the last 3 blogs (starting with part 1 https://whatishebrewing.com/2022/12/19/hanukkah-is-our-culture/), we went over what The Festival of Hanukkah is, what hanukkah/dedication was for our ancestors, and what it means for us as Israelites today to live out all of our days in hanukkah to YAH. For some of you, this may be your first year celebrating Hanukkah, while others may be planning to join in for the first time next year. And for those who have been observing Hanukkah for years, this may be an opportunity to reflect on your practices and ensure they align with Scripture. Or perhaps your situation is entirely different. Regardless, let’s examine a few so-called Hanukkah traditions and practices that are considered biblically righteous, particularly by certain groups who claim Israelite heritage but really aren’t.

For many people, the Festival of Hanukkah is synonymous with “The Festival of Lights.” However, as we explored in the preceding blogs in this series, the Hebrew word “Hanukkah” actually means “Dedication,” not “lights.” To reiterate, our Festival of Hanukkah is, in essence, a Feast of ReDedication. This distinction is rooted in Scripture, rather than the commonly referenced “Festival of Lights.” For those who may be unfamiliar especially if you haven’t read the other blogs in this series, let me share a couple of relevant Bible passages:

Hanukkah Is Our — Reasonable Service

Picking up where we left off in our first two Hanukkah discussions (if you didn’t read part 1 first, here’s the link https://whatishebrewing.com/2022/12/19/hanukkah-is-our-culture/), we explored the inaugural Festival/Feast of Hanukkah/Dedication, commemorating the re-dedication of YAH’s Temple. We also discussed the importance of living a life of dedication/hanukkah to YAH, by highlighting some of the exemplary lives & sacrifices of our ancestors in Scripture. Now, to further enrich your understanding of Hanukkah, I recommend reading and reflecting on 2nd Chronicles chapters 29-30, and contemplating the profound re-dedication/Hanukkah service undertaken by King Hezekiah at the outset of his reign, here’s a quick excerpt:

Hanukkah is Our—Truthful Way of Life!

Picking up where we left off (in the first blog https://whatishebrewing.com/2022/12/19/hanukkah-is-our-culture/), and after you have read the first four chapters of 1st Maccabees, we can see the results of the dedicated cultural training of our ancestors. Judah/Yahudah Maccabees and his brothers, guided by their father Matthathias/Mattithyahu’s instructions and example, cultivated an unwavering dedication to YAH, by obeying His Torah/Instructions and treasuring the Temple & Kingdom. Being obedient to “The Shema” (quoted below), they were taught to follow the Torah with unrelenting passion and commitment, a principle that remains a cornerstone of our faith today.

Hanukkah Is Our—Culture.

Family, as the so-called Negroes, we are a people of dedication – it’s ingrained in our culture! Unfortunately, our ancestors’ way of life, rooted in dedication, was hidden from us. Now is our time to uncover and reclaim this vital part of our heritage. You might be saying, what does that opening have to do with Hanukkah… Well, the word “Hanukkah” itself means dedication. Verify this truth for yourself by exploring the Hebrew and Greek words used in Scripture:

The annual Winter festival known as the Festival or Feast of Dedication, also known as Hanukkah in Hebrew, is the authentic winter celebration that we should understand and observe, rather than Christmas. But how can we be sure? The answer lies in the Bible: The Book of John clearly shows that The Messiah, His disciples, and our ancestors during His time, kept Hanukkah — not Christmas. Let us see why we should follow their example and do as they did.

In John chapter 10, we notice that The Messiah didn’t object to or rebuke the celebration of Hanukkah, unlike some anti-Hanukkah Israelites do today. Instead, He traveled to and attended the festival, and made some profound declarations to the celebration attendees, further emphasizing the significance of His presence during Hanukkah.

Before we delve deeper, it’s essential to understand the history and significance of Hanukkah. As we make our way through this blog series, I encourage you to not only teach your children about this feast but also to educate yourself on the biblical history of Hanukkah first. To lay the foundation, I recommend reading the biblical account of the Maccabees, which is found in what is called the Apocrypha (https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Apocrypha-Books/). Let us understand: effective training leads to dedication/hanukkah, and there’s no dedication/hanukkah without sacrifice. The Hebrew root word of hanukkah deals with training. A relevant verse likely comes to mind (see below), and its truth is further illustrated through our Hanukkah history, as recorded in the first couple of chapters of 1st Maccabees.

It’s our sacred duty to uncover the truth and pass it down to future generations, thereby restoring righteousness to our culture by reclaiming what was lost, hidden, and distorted. As we continue on this journey, more of us are daily relearning our history and rediscovering our heritage. Hanukkah, an integral part of our cultural family, is a significant part of this rediscovery.

Although observing the Festival of Hanukkah is not a command from YAH, you can still choose to honor it as a meaningful memorial celebration – a topic we’ll explore further in this series. Regardless of whether you feel led to celebrate Hanukkah or not, understanding its significance and sharing that truth & knowledge with others is crucial.

Just as YAH restored the Menorah and Temple to our ancestors after they were taken away, He is now restoring our understanding of the Torah and the previously hidden (Apocrypha) books of the Maccabees. Once again, YAH is restoring what was lost and twisted! He is reviving the truth and our royal heritage. HalleluYAH! Therefore, let us seize this opportunity to learn the truth about Hanukkah and renew our dedication to YAH as we prepare for the coming of His Kingdom!

Hanukkah is Our—Truthful Way of Life!

The Messiah’s Definitive Proclamation of His Oneness with YAH During Hanukkah:

“At that time the Ḥanukkah (Feast of Dedication) came to be in Yerushalayim (Jerusalem), and it was winter. And יהושע (Yahoshua, The Messiah) was walking in the Set-apart (Holy) Place, in the porch of Shelomoh (Solomon). So the Yahuḏim (Judaeans) surrounded Him and said to Him, “How long do You keep us in suspense? If You are the Messiah, say to us plainly.” יהושע (Yahoshua) answered them, “I have told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in My Father’s Name, they bear witness concerning Me. “But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you. “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. “And I give them everlasting life, and they shall by no means ever perish, and no one shall snatch them out of My hand. “My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all. And no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. “I and My Father are one.” Again the Yahuḏim picked up stones to stone Him. יהושע (Yahoshua) answered them, “Many good works I have shown you from My Father. Because of which of these works do you stone Me?” The Yahuḏim answered Him, saying, “We do not stone You for a good work, but for blasphemy, and because You, being a Man, make Yourself Elohim.” יהושע (Yahoshua) answered them, “Is it not written in your own Torah, ‘I said, “You are elohim”’? “If He called them elohim, to whom the word of Elohim came – and it is impossible for the Scripture to be broken – do you say of Him whom the Father set apart and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of Elohim’? “If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me; ” but if I do, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, so that you know and believe that the Father is in Me, and I in Him.” Therefore they were seeking again to seize Him, but He went forth out of their hand, and went once more to the other side of the Yardĕn (Jordan) to the place where Yoḥanan (John) was immersing (baptizing) at first, and there He stayed. And many came to Him and said, “Yoḥanan indeed did no sign, yet all that Yoḥanan said about this Man was true.” And many believed in Him there.”
